Listening to the Loire river, When the city plays with nature
Ce projet fait suite à une étude sur l’univers des sons de la ville, suscitant une interrogation sur le confort auditif urbain. Après un premier travail de cartographie sonore, un outil de communication et de raisonnement favorisant la compréhension de l’organisation sonore d’Orléans et des lieux où une intervention est nécessaire, Grégory a mené un travail de sensibilisation pour faire prendre conscience aux habitants d’Orléans de l’ampleur de la nuisance sonore en rendant visible les sons dans l’espace urbain.
Écoute Ligérienne se traduit par trois dispositifs sonores qui ont pour objectif de réintroduire la Loire dans l’espace urbain par trois sonorités dont la particularité est de donner à voir un phénomène et donner à entendre un autre. Par le vent nous entendons l’eau ; par l’eau, les oiseaux et par les oiseaux, le vent. Ces dispositifs se veulent poétiques par leur temporalité contemplative et la métamorphose du paysage sonore en faisant apparaître des sonorités presque oubliées.
This project follows a study on the universe of urban sounds, raising questions about urban auditory comfort. After an initial work of sound mapping, using a communication and reasoning tool that promotes an understanding of Orléans; sound organization and the places where intervention is needed, Grégory conducted an awareness campaign to make the inhabitants of Orléans aware of the extent of the noise pollution by making sounds visible in urban areas.
Écoute Ligérienne is translated by three sound devices which aim to reintroduce the Loire into the urban space through whose characteristic three sounds is to show one phenomenon and give to hear another. By wind we mean water; by water, birds and by birds, wind. These devices are poetic in their contemplative temporality and the metamorphosis of the soundscape by revealing almost forgotten sounds.
